Mother's Day is coming, look busy!
My mom is going through some general health problems
from aging this year so I am organizing a list of the things that I have been
sending her so that others concerned with their mothers' well being might want
to peruse through and consider instead of sending flowers or candy. One
of the only things I have truly admired about some of the hippy types I run
into in Arcata, CA is their dedication
to health through ritual cleansing programs, healthy eating, and moderation.
When it comes to ritual cleansing some fast, some detox, and some go for
what some say is the ultimate carthartic procedure the High
Colonic.
Moms as they move up in the corporate world have less and less time
to be healthy and are exposed to more and more toxins (esp if they live in the
city). We want her to be around to spoil her grandchildren forever,
right? These programs are also useable by us geeks with our sundry
list of abuses we put our body through as well.
| Let's face it most books we buy for people are left unopened or only flipped through casually by loved ones who would rather feign interest than admit not liking something. If you can get them to read through the first few pages of this book however they will be hooked. Besides the lack of specific research documentation to back up some of the author's claims I was enthralled by the text. I consider it “tome” material even though it only stands in at 200 and some odd pages as it will guide you through almost all the different processes known today to detoxify the body with ease and elan. The author has a well paced understanding of all the subjects he touches on and will not confuse either technical readers with dumbed down regurgitations or intimidate lay readers with needlessly profuse wording. This is the one my mom sent to her sister and the first one I bought for her. |
| This is a more extreme program as it involved fasting and requires willpower but it offered the most dramatic results, even beyond a high colonic. There are a few options within the book to steer you along to a non-solid foods regimen for up to 10 days. Believe you me this will clean things out of you that you were unaware could persist in a person for so long, hard things like popcorn kernels, gall stones, and kidney stones will pass. Once the stools stop being hard and dark and you excrete only mucus than stop the program. Anything beyond that can damage the flora in your intestines. Not for the weak of mind or heart. |
